Paintings of Apples

I like apples. You like apples. They say an apple a day, well a paintings of an apple is not an apple? 2d isn't 3d as they say. It's all about color. Ever since Eve offered the apple to Adam , the apple has hung around as a symbol in art, a symbol of health and fertility.

Apples appear in many religious traditions, often as a mystical or forbidden fruit. One of the problems identifying apples in religionmythology and folktales is that as late as the 17th century, the word "apple" was used as a generic term for all (foreign) fruit other than berries, but including nuts.[1] This term may even have extended to plant galls, as they were thought to be of plant origin (see oak apple). For instance, when tomatoes were introduced into Europe, they were called "love apples". In one Old English work,....wiki

I Left My Heart on The Planet Mars Road Dog 1

Now anybody who doesn't sing along with this song oughta just not try and go somewhere the hogs can eat you because they will. Americana just doesn't get any better. This guy's in Itunes too. Hot Damn, he over there at Artvilla too? True folk music requires a true songwriter, one with a vision. That's Road Dog-1 Folk Music and at Soundcloud

Klondike Kate is another good one

Old Tennessee Dams

Old Mills on the river everywhere are interesting. Often the buildings were wooden mill buildings which succumbed to fire.
Here are two:
Walter Hill Dam  Near Murfreesboro Tennessee....They were once generating electricity there.

Hill's Mill....Port Royal, Tennessee......This building is also gone. It was a grain mill.

They don't know we are here

It's quiet
there are no commercials and
if we try really hard
we can hear the crickets,
listen;
hear them?
Now if we just shut out the cars
the airplanes,
the modern,
then we can truly hear the finger
moving
softly and sweetly,
across
the
cell phone

And I told her
again and again
over flowers
over gin

I grew near water
like the white Sycamore
and I am like dried fall leaves
on the forest floor

A Lazy day and some good links from Passenger Creek

Women Jazz Musicians.......The ladies deserve a link
Art Lessons.....Artvilla has the best art lessons on the net, bar none
History of Eden...I found the video to be informative
What else. A dry day and cold here. The news became too political and I just get mad at people so I turned it off. Facebook is a disappointment as usual. I'm fighting the addiction by staying away quietly.
Artebys Our friends at Artebys provide blogging and are just good linkers. They deserve a link back on occasion.

Signed and Numbered Prints

Looks like a good deal except no prices. I do like the art. Maybe you'd find original paintings and photographs by emerging and established artists. Artworks are selected by our curators. We like this artist. Of course we are a bit biased you might say because we are just linking because we do like the guy. He is great. A wonderful artist and person. But just look at the mess he made.
You should rush right over and buy his art so he'll find a wife and clean the place up
